What our Patients says about us
Great Doctor with good experience and knowledge
Best Gastro. doctor in NCR. Very cordial and humble
A very good doctor with always smiling face and who knows how to elaborate and treat the patient without making him worried about the disease…
Nice experience, Dr shivam kalia sir is an incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate person who takes out time to listen to his patients concerns
“Doctor Shivam Kaliya ji is an excellent human being, he listens to his patients very carefully and he looks at the reports very diligently and then on the basis of his investigation he prescribes medicine and also notifies all the dos and the donts to his patients. It is such a doctors that make the medical institution proud. He is a Jewel in the Fortis crown. We wish him the very best for his future. God bless him.
Dr. Shivam Kalia is a rare kind of doctor who truly puts his patients’ health above everything else. At a time when my health was rapidly deteriorating and several doctors I consulted dismissed or ignored my concerns, he was the one who truly listened and diagnosed me early. He took my condition seriously from the very beginning and was attentive at every step throughout a long course of treatment. He really listens to his patients (which you would think would be common, but it isn't!). What stayed with me the most was his kindness and compassion. Dr. Shivam Kalia is the kind of doctor every patient hopes to find, someone who truly puts people and their health first. My family and I will always be grateful to him for helping me recover and regain my life.
I interacted with Dr Shivam when I had admitted my brother in Fortis Noida for liver complications. His approach and diagnosis was spot on and was further confirmed by seasoned experts from AIIMS and ILBS also. Most importantly, he is extremely accessible and caring for the patients and family alike. He understands and appreciates the anxiety a family must be going through. Despite having multiple alternatives, I have decided to continue with Dr Shivam for his personal and professional expertise
Dr Shivam Kalia is an outstanding young doctor who attended to my wife in May 2025 (14th afn was our first interaction) at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. She was having serious liver issues but the meticulous care, attention and timely medical help he provided wasn't just invaluable but truly life saving. His demeanor, approach and care he took of her for the next two months (“My bad” that he left Max for better pastures, I believe) will always be etched in my memory for ever. Besides his professional qualities he is a gentleman to the core too. I could not have found a better and such a humane gastroenterologist. God Speed Dr Kalia, and may u shine bright and rise to greater heights in all your future endeavors. Best Sujit Chatterjee (husband of patient Ms Krishna Chatterjee)

What conditions does Dr. Shivam Kaliya treat at Global Gastro Care in Ghaziabad?
Dr. Shivam Kaliya, a board-certified Medical Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, provides expert management of a comprehensive array of digestive and liver disorders. At Global Gastro Care in Ghaziabad, he treats conditions such as acid-peptic disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, viral and metabolic liver conditions, among others. Renowned for his meticulous diagnostic approach and compassionate care, Dr. Kaliya ensures personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
What advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures does Dr. Shivam Kaliya offer?
Dr. Shivam Kaliya offers a wide range of advanced endoscopic and non-invasive procedures. His expertise includes high-definition upper GI endoscopy with narrow band imaging, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, and third-space endoscopy. He also performs functional assessments like esophageal and anorectal manometry and biofeedback therapy. Non-invasive tools such as FibroScan®, capsule endoscopy, breath tests, and liver biopsy enhance his capability for accurate disease staging and treatment guidance.
What is Upper GI Endoscopy and when is it recommended?
Upper GI Endoscopy is a procedure used to examine the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract, which includes the esophagus, stomach, and beginning of the small intestine. It is recommended for diagnosing symptoms such as persistent heartburn, bleeding, nausea, vomiting, or unexplained pain. The procedure also allows for biopsies and treatment of conditions like esophageal strictures and polyps.
How does Colonoscopy help in detecting gastrointestinal issues?
Colonoscopy is a procedure that allows for the examination of the interior lining of the colon and rectum. It helps detect inflamed tissues, abnormal growths, ulcers, and early signs of cancer. It is crucial for colorectal cancer screening and can also be used to evaluate symptoms like unexplained changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, or rectal bleeding.
What role does Narrow Band Imaging play in gastrointestinal endoscopy?
Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) enhances visualization during an endoscopy by using specific wavelengths of light to highlight mucosal structures and vascular patterns. It aids gastrologists in distinguishing between benign and malignant lesions, thus improving the accuracy of diagnoses and targeted biopsies, particularly in detecting early indications of esophageal or colorectal cancer.
What conditions can be diagnosed or treated with ERCP?
Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is primarily used to diagnose and treat conditions related to the bile ducts and pancreatic ducts. It can address gallstones, strictures, leaks, or cancers in these ducts. Additionally, ERCP is effective in relieving obstructions or introducing stents, which alleviate symptoms like jaundice or pancreatitis.
What is Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and its significance?
Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) combines endoscopy and ultrasound to provide detailed images of the digestive tract and surrounding tissues. It is significant for staging cancers, evaluating submucosal lesions, and diagnosing conditions such as pancreatitis or liver disease. EUS also guides fine-needle aspiration for accurate tissue diagnoses, offering a minimally invasive alternative to surgical biopsy.
What encompasses Third Space Endoscopy procedures?
Third Space Endoscopy refers to advanced endoscopic procedures that operate within the submucosal space of the gastrointestinal tract. Techniques like Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) for achalasia and Submucosal Tunneling and Endoscopic Resection (STER) for tumors are included. These minimally invasive options effectively treat complex conditions by allowing precise interventions without the need for open surgery.
How does Esophageal and Anorectal Manometry with Biofeedback Therapy work?
This procedure measures the pressures and pattern of muscle contractions in the esophagus and rectum. It diagnoses conditions like GERD, achalasia, or chronic constipation. Biofeedback therapy further assists by training patients to improve muscle function and coordination, particularly in the rectum and anus, thereby alleviating symptoms and improving quality of life for disorders affecting these areas.
What advantages does Double Balloon Enteroscopy provide?
Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE) is a specialized endoscopic technique that allows for a detailed examination and treatment of the entire small bowel. It is particularly useful for diagnosing and managing obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, detecting tumors, or inserting stents in the small intestine. DBE's main advantage lies in its ability to reach parts of the small intestine that other endoscopies cannot.
How is FibroScan used in liver disease assessment?
FibroScan is a non-invasive test that evaluates liver stiffness and fat content, aiding in the assessment of liver fibrosis and steatosis. It's a quick procedure, offering an alternative to liver biopsy for diagnosing and monitoring liver diseases like hepatitis, cirrhosis, or fatty liver. The test helps in tracking disease progression and the effectiveness of ongoing treatment strategies.
What is Capsule Endoscopy, and when is it used?
Capsule Endoscopy involves swallowing a small, pill-sized camera that captures images as it moves through the digestive tract. It's used for examining the small intestine, which is hard to reach with traditional endoscopies. Indications include investigating unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding, Crohn's disease, and small bowel tumors. The procedure provides valuable pictures to help in precise diagnosis and management of these conditions.
How are Breath Tests utilized in gastroenterology?
Breath tests are non-invasive diagnostic tools used to detect conditions like lactose intolerance, bacterial overgrowth, and H. pylori infection. Patients ingest a specific substrate that causes detectable changes in the breath if certain bacteria or metabolic conditions are present. These tests are critical in diagnosing gastrointestinal disorders linked to bacterial growth, contributing to effective and targeted treatment plans.
What is the purpose of a Colonic Transit Study?
A Colonic Transit Study evaluates how well food moves through the colon and can diagnose conditions like chronic constipation or colonic motility disorders. It involves ingesting markers or using scintigraphy to track movement through the digestive system. This study identifies slow transit constipation or differentiate between mechanical and functional gastrointestinal disorders, assisting specialists in formulating adequate treatment approaches.
When is a Liver Biopsy necessary in treating liver conditions?
A Liver Biopsy involves extracting a tissue sample from the liver to diagnose or monitor liver conditions inaccurately. It is necessary when imaging tests and blood work are inconclusive, often aiding in diagnosing hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer, or other unexplained liver dysfunctions. The biopsy helps form an accurate treatment plan, assessing the extent of liver damage and the inflammation present.
